Yes it will if you put the calendar (and contacts if you like) in a public
folder.

Been there, done it. It's just not a pretty sight.

This will not allow you to share calendars though.

Yes, you can use Outlook 2000 configured for corporate/workgroup use and
utilize Net Folders. You can even set up a Microsoft mail postoffice and do
rudimentary e-mail.

It works, but it's sure no Exchange (which may not necessarily be
bad:depends on when you ask). It's preferable to a sharp stick in the eye,
anyway.

If they do go this way, by all means try to avoid putting the shared files
on a user's workstation. They are much better off on the most rudementary
(wow, used that word TWICE in one e-mail!) server. However, they could live
on a share on a workstation in a pinch.

And since the "post office" is just a shared database, there isn't an
automatic forwarding of info like in Xchange. The Outlook clients ned to
regularly poll the database to send and receive updates.

forgive my ignorance with Office..

there is a small 5 person company who we rent out a small portion of our
office to that has Office 2000 but NO Exchange Server I assume they just
use Outlook for Internet Mail not corporate/workgrop, they have a small
TCP/IP network (196.168.1.0-192.168.1.255) and they want to know if they
can use Outlook on their small network and share calendars, and contacts

thanks,
Luke
