Brian,

How long do you unplug the connection for?

If I've got an open telnet session to my unix database server from a Windows
4.0 box, and I unplug my cable and then plug it back in, I'm still
connected. How come the Windows 2000 box can't do the same thing?

How can it keep connections alive that no longer exist?

How do I keep the ethernet interface alive under Windows 2000?

If I need to swap ethernet cables or switches, Windows 2000 disables the
network interface and drops all connections soon after I disconnect the
cable. Is there any way to force it to keep the interface and also the
connections alive until the cable gets reconnected again?
