Do you have the system enabled to reboot upon BSOD? If so, disable, under
system props, and then try and interpolate the error codes.

Try a new power supply. I know it seems software / driver related but I
once had nearly an exact experience except I was transplanting some servers
to a new colo facility. Power supply ended up being the culprit, recycling
power once the login screen came up. I moved three identical servers that
day and it just happened to be time for the power supply to start acting
squirrelly on me for one of the servers.

It's like the guy that goes in for an oil change and on his way out the
timing belt goes - $%!! happens sometimes.

Just a thought... good luck

Steve

I have a number of compaq dl360 servers running nt4.0
all but one has sp6a.

the last one has problems when I install sp6a.

WHen it reboots, it gets as far as login prompt, then reboots before or
during login. If I leave it alone, it'll reboot.

I try doing a last good install, but it still behaves as above.

Has anyone experienced this, or have any suggestions how to upgrade. I've
been told by Compaq tech support that they may not be able to help with
problems unless it's upped to sp6a.

The server is really only running IIS4. I have a (nearly) identical server
which works fine.

TIA

Tree
