I don't know how your 7 Mhz kit is designed but
normaly you have to replace resistor array RB1, you have to remove
wire (jumper) Fb301 (next to the VDP) and connect a wire from
ic 16 pin 10 to the 7Mhz pcb
when the picture get jammed there is somting wrong with the delay.
there are 2 possible ways to do this. (1) 2 wires from the vdp to the 7mhz
(2) 1 wire from the cpu (pin 20 ??) to the 7mhz , the 7mhz is on top of the cpu
so its a very short wireand normally already present on the kit.
and ofcourse you have to connect the led and the switch.
check these points , if it still wont work you can always ask again.
