Hi, Tristan !

T> I agree (Moonsound has a mixer tho, but only able to mix FM and WAVE)

Yep.

 >> And sounds are good, but not enough to think OPL4 is professional.

T> The Moonsound has a high quality output filter which makes it sound
T> okay. But it sounds very 'thin' compared to other synths due to lack

Certainly. Hmmm. I would like to make an experiment: to compose a song using a
multi-track recording system, professional multi-effect and mixer, and a
MoonSound !!

 >> But .... I think OPL4 is better than the other wavetable cards which
 >> can be found in PC. AWE and GUS are both pathetic.
 T>
T> I disagree. An AWE32/64 easily outperforms the Moonsound, _if used in
T> the right way_, because it has
 T>
T> - Far more detailed envelope settings
 T> - Filters (cutoff/resonance)
 T> - Effects (chorus/reverb/flanger/..)

:-) These effects are very ugly. I prefer 'plain' sound instead using
SoundBlaster 'effects' :-P

T> - Tons of RAM (in a good configuration)

Well .... that's right. But OPL4 sounds better than AWE. Moonsound's DAC
quality is superb!

T> The default on-board ROM is crappy though. The Yamaha one is superior
T> because of size and quality.

:) I agree.

Bye!
