It don't happens with my IDE. Perhaps with the news BIOS (I am using
v1.86) this problem you say above is patched.

I am a user of NestorBasic, because a often use NestorPlayer. :)

Well, here is my MSX with IDE interface, and it is completely normal.
My MSX is not hunged....
Sorry, but this problems you say, actually aren't true.
Perhaps, at the beginning, with old bios it worked.

Sure!.
In my poor opinion, the only problem I see to the IDE is the image-disk
launcher....
And of course, a MSXCDEX for IDE is very very necessary.
By the way, I think that I forget a disk with moosound musics in your room
(in "fumen") last Barlelona fair, isn't true? :)
