Well Pepijn,
I can give you a few good reasons, but I will keep it to one... I have a
real MSX-2 standing here, with fm-pac and scc. It only has 128kb of memory.
I have been looking for extra memory for over a year now, but I am still not
able to get it. On my emulator, I have access to a MSX with 4 mb... I can
easily play MSX 2+ games, what I can't do on my real MSX2.
For the rest:
- I have over 1600 MSX games on my PC. I never have to search ythrough piles
of disks. They are all in my start-menu.
- I can play on a very good 17" monitor
- debugging is really very easy using an emulator
- You can let your emulator run on an incredible speed
- BrMSX displays MSX games with over 30000 colurs.
- Deskspace... Not everyone has room for 2 computers...
But, on the other hand:
-On my real MSX, I can use my Arcade Turbo Joystick
-THere are still lotsa programs that don't work on an emulator
-FM-PAC sounds better on my MSX then in any emulator
-Our own FDD#2 doesn't work on ANY emulator !
So.. There is something to be said for both options :-) I am really happy
with my emulator, but I would never want to miss my real MSX. And if anyone
has got a memmory mapper they want to sell (pref 512kb), just mail me at:

| OK, emulators are a part of the msx-scene these days, but I agree with
| Giovanni. Why would REAL msx users use a emulator? Theres
| almost as much talk on the list bout emulators as there is bout real msx
:(
