You can play .WAV-files.
I know, I know, it is already possible, but the size is limited to 128k for
16-bit and 64k for 8-bit samples. When there is the possibility to generate
interrupts the size of the .WAV-file can be upgraded to 512kB (when upgraded
your MoonSound's SampleRAM to 512kB)
Combined with the possibility to write into the SampleRAM while playing a
sample (which the MSX-Audio also can do), one can even play samples of
unlimited size!!! (the sky is the limit, or in this case, your harddisk is
the limit).
Anyway, I'll make a .WAV-player someday which can handle all sizes. It will
devide the sample in 64k (or 128k) pieces, then calculate the duration of
the sample and automatically start another part when the counter (on the
interrupt) reaches zero. However, this will highly likely produce a
TICK-sound everytime it reaches the limit. Maybe I'll also add the
possibility to play samples larger than the SampleRAM. But I then the
replaying of the sample will pause for a while everytime the SampleRAM's
limit is reached.
On the MSX-Audio, if you convert the sample to ADPCM in advance (which is
the MSX-Audio's big limit), then all this disadvantages the MoonSound has
will disappear.
