Anyways, I didn't 'suddenly' switch to IDE. Harddisks are harddisks, right?
And spindown features are spindown features, eh? And besides, it was meant
as some kind of PS...

And I think Patrick's message (thank you, very informative) still has a
point, even though he thought you were talking about SCSI instead of IDE. I
think SCSI has some (bit more limited?) thing alike the IDE thing Patrick
described. And I indeed think your SCSI HD was switched Sleep-mode, instead
of Standby (at least, if SCSI supports that).

If so, then I think (when using the right command) SCSI also supports (some
form of) Auto Power Down.
