That's my opinion too.

SLIP sucks, and most providers don't support it (at least mine doesn't).
But, HDLC sucks even more. Hell talking about a protocol which is reducing
bandwidth... Terrible! I wish I could disable it and gain direct access to
PPP... But alas, that's not possible.
