Ofcourse, you are right.
But somehow sending an Authentication Protocol Option it is being rejected
on all the ISP's I tried. So it's best to passively wait for one (mind you,
I am talking about the option in the Conf_Requests here, not about the PAP
protocol itself!)

Except for that I hardly know how to code C (on an MSX), I chose Assembly
because I have absolutely no idea how fast the MSX is exactly when it's
about modems, and I don't want problems with the MSX not keeping up with the
modem.
