The Amazon Academic Research Awards (AARA) program funds academic research and related contributions to open source projects by top academic researchers throughout the world. AARA awards aim to fund projects leading toward a Ph.D. degree or conducted as a part of post-doctoral work. This year, proposals are considered for the following topics in Machine Translation:

 + Learning from weak user feedback.
+ Advanced methods for MT into and out of morphologically-rich languages.
 + Low resource Machine Translation.
 + Advances in reordering models for MT.
 + Advances in scalable real-time MT.
 + Advances in neural MT and language modeling.
 + Using document context and other modalities to improve MT.
 + Advances in MT for noisy and user-generated content.
 + Advances in methods for estimating MT quality at run time.

Application submission deadline is October 1, 2016, decisions will be announced about 2.5 months later. Please, see the attached flyer for more details about the program and the application process.
