I'm using Emacs 24 and would be fine only supporting 24+. Selfishness
aside, I do think it would be a shame to make it more difficult to try
out mu4e on the default Emacs in many distros. Unless I'm mistaken (and
I hope I am) most distros still use 23 by default.

With that in mind, 24 is pretty critical if someone wants to have a
reasonbly modern Emacs experience, namely good package support from
melpa / marmalade. So even if you do make the effort to support 23,
there is a really good chance a user will need to upgrade anyway.

In any case, I'm not the one doing the work (Thank you Dirk!). I am
happy to help let folks know that they need Emacs 24 though and hopfully
help in a tiny way directing people to a better Emacs experience.

I'm a +1 for only supporting Emacs 24.

Thanks again Dirk for mu4e. I was a wanderlust user for a good while and
when I tried to recreate my install on a new laptop, it was a
nightmare. I've managed to recreate my mu4e configuration a few times
over and become productive in no time on linux and osx, thanks to mu4e
and for that I thank you.

Best,

Eric
