SCHOLES IS BACK TO HIS BEST - FERGIE Sir Alex Ferguson has singled out Paul Scholes as the catalyst behind Manchester United's latest upturn in fortunes in the Premiership. Five successive victories have swept the Red Devils to within three points of Premiership leaders Arsenal and with his side also well placed in the Champions League, Ferguson believes England midfielder Scholes has been inspirational. "I think he is the best player in England with the best brain and very few can match him," glowed the Old Trafford chief. Scholes scored one and made the other goal as United beat Arsenal 2-0 on Saturday and Ferguson acknowledges it was an invaluable contribution. "Paul Scholes has been fantastic - he has had a good season. He had problems last year because he believed too much of what he read about himself. "We explained to him that great players can play anywhere. You have the ability to play on every bit of the pitch and there are some players who can do that and he is one of them," added Ferguson. Scholes struggled for form last season after being played further forward following the arrival of 28m playmaker Juan Sebastian Veron. www.teamtalk.com http://www.red11.org/news Subscription info WWW http://red11.org/list Reply to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] = subscribe to the list.
