Hi all,

I was at the game in OT on Wed night and if anyone thought it looked boring,
it wasn't. The atmosphere in Manchester before the game was excellent and
the Milan fans won the battle of the fans easily, the atmosphere they
created was fantastic. But when the game went into extra time they were
totally shown up by the Juventus fans who sang for the whole 30 mins to the
silent Milan fans.

Two things became obvious though.

1 - NOTHING replaces watching United. Although I enjoyed the game and
thought it was exciting for 2 Italian sides with some brilliant defending, I
could not help thinking that we'd have created about twice as many chances
as both put together and Ruud would have bagged a hat trick on the night.
Oh, and we would have beaten wither side. I'm not being arrogant saying
that. We would have, simple as that.

2 - You cannot keep the reds down. I was in North Stand tier 3 sitting on
the East Stand side of the ground. While there was a lot of Milanese & Juve
fans, there was quite a few Reds. The guy with me was a Red and when the
game got stale on 2 or 3 occasions, Country Roads, We are the Manchester
Boys and My Old Man got an airing. It was brilliant that at a CL final not
involving us, we still had an impact. There was one Red in front of me with
his mother and whenever the Milan fans sang "you'll never walk alone", he
booed. The Milan fans around him didn't like it, but we knew why he was
booing.

Later that night we went into the city centre & the atmosphere was
excellent. But yet again one f***ing Arsenal fan spoiled it. He was pissed
out of his mind in a chipper called Dave's fried chicken or something like
that. He was spoling for a fight big time, moaning about "Henry is better
than Ruud Van Diver" and saying "any Mancs give you hassle we'll sort them".
He deserved a kick where it hurts, but why spoil a party atmosphere on a
complete & utter Arsenal w*nker? A couple of Scousers walked by in Liverpool
shirts & they gave no grief. Says it all really.

All in all though a great night. A Credit to both Manchester & Manchester
United.
