All hypothesis, but would one of the two Italian sides, (ignoring Juves weakened team that showed at OT in the group) have been able to choke us to death with one up front, and hurt us on the break whilst we pushed for a goal?
Another talking point was penalties. Who would have been nominated if United were in that situation? Some of the Juve 'stars' appeared to bottle out and Lippi was less than amused. My thinking would have been, assuming all were on the pitch: 1. Beckham 2. Solksjaer 3. Scholes (despite that woeful effort v Man City circa 2001) 4. Keane And Ruud saved until last, so that hopefully if it proved to be a killer then he would be the man to deliver the coup de grace. The 4th kicker was between Keane and Veron. I went for a man who would have no fear in the heat of the battle. Sorry Ryan, I would not risk you, nor place responsibility on the defenders. Although I enjoyed the game and thought it was exciting for 2 Italian sides with some brilliant defending, I could not help thinking that we'd have created about twice as many chances as both put together and Ruud would have bagged a hat trick on the night. Oh, and we would have beaten wither side. I'm not being arrogant saying that. We would have, simple as that. __________________________________________________ Yahoo!
