I remember the first time I saw Schmeichel in the flesh (v
Wimbledon away in 1991(?) in the days when you could see United
away). Apart from being amazed at his physical presence, I thought
he was a rough diamond just waiting to be polished. All night long,
Wimbledon pumped up high balls into the goal area, which needless
to say Justin Elbows Fashanu was using to wind Schmeichel up in
his usual style. To be honest, he didn't deal with them well and an
inevitable goal came (we won 2-1). That must have been his third or
fourth game for United and we all know what happenned in the
following years. I think Tim Howard will be the same.

All best to all reds
