Hi everyone, I've installed Multisync and want to sync the calendar in my Siemens S55 with Evolution. When I try to sync the phone with Evolution, syncing starts (the phone says that a transfer is in progress), but then suddenly the phone gives a low beep and switches itself off. It seems that the phone simply crashes. When I then switch the phone on again, the calendar entries are all there, but the old calendar entries are not deleted. So with every sync operation I get one more set of calendar entries.
I first thought it may be a problem with the phone loosing power, but the problem persists when I attach the power load craddle. Bluetooth works fine with the phone normally (at least my Bluetooth headset does). I'm not sure if these are two distinct problems (1. phone switches itself off and 2. calendar entries appear double) or just one problem (because phone switches itself off the superfluous calendar entries are not deleted). I found another post in the archives which described this problem but no solution for me. I feel that this could be a kernel problem or maybe with the phones firmware, but I'd feel better if someone could confirm this before I start compiling a new kernel and mess with my phone's firmware. Version information is as follows: [EMAIL PROTECTED] markus]$ rpm -qa | grep "multisync" multisync-evolution-0.82-1 multisync-0.82-1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] markus]$ rpm -qa | grep "evolution-1" evolution-1.4.6-0.ximian.6.5 [EMAIL PROTECTED] markus]$ rpm -qa | grep "blue" bluez-sdp-1.5-1 bluez-utils-2.4-1 bluez-libs-2.5-1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] markus]$ uname -a Linux markus 2.4.20-8 #1 Thu Mar 13 17:54:28 EST 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [EMAIL PROTECTED] markus]$ sudo tail -f /var/log/messages Apr 27 17:59:07 markus kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.2-1.4, assigned address 5 Apr 27 17:59:07 markus /sbin/hotplug: no runnable /etc/hotplug/bluetooth.agent is installed Apr 27 17:59:10 markus /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup hci_usb for USB product a12/1/525 Apr 27 17:59:11 markus devlabel: devlabel service started/restarted This is the 2.4.20-8 kernel which is included into RedHat 9. The Bluetooth Dongle is an EPOX BT-DG02A. I have compiled the bluetooth module for Multisync by hand from the source and installed it (sudo make install) because the RPM for that didn't install due to dependency problems. Settings in Multisync are as follows: First plugin: Ximian Evolution (with Standard Settings) Second plugin: IrMC Mobile Device Connection Type: Bluetooth Adress and channel according to what was determined by "Search for units" Options: "Set default options for Siemens S55" Data types to synchronize: [X] Calendar [ ] Addressbook [ ] Tasks Phone Firmware version is as follows: Product: S55 P.-Date: 2004-03-23 SW-Version: 16. SW-Date: 2003-05-05 Variant: A 105 Any answer or pointers to additional troubleshooting documentation would be greatly appreciated.
