Hmmm. Nope, that doesn't seem to be the case, when a cu is attached it seems
responses ONLY go to the cu and nothing else...

Extra information: when I can get it to START connecting, and it fails during
the plugin changes part, I get this in the terminal:

Error writing to port: Resource temporarily unavailable
Error writing to port: Resource temporarily unavailable

Though I do have access to read and write to it... wait... wait... I just
tried it many many times in a row and finally the phone went
"synchronizing"... multisync still says "getting first plugin changes" -- been
2 or 3 minutes now.... phone still says "synchronizing"... I'm excited...

Oh! A popup said "Fetching the full contact database, this may take a few
minutes"...

Damn, phone just said "Synchronization interrupted"

OK, so is this a flakey cable? (brand new!), or possibly a flakey driver?
