Three important items:In order that always may follow the thread you can find the iso7816-4 here [1].
1. Although I have every sympathy with those who seek to make ISO/IEC standards freely available, and with those who try to write summaries of the material that is found in the standards, the situation that we are in is still that only the published standard should be used when designing to that standard, and every copy of each standard (and part thereof) has to be paid for.
Yes and I have one french copy of the ISO7816-3 et ISO7816-4 but in order that people may understand the thread I have given this link.
It seems to me that the french version have also some bad translation. For instance "may" is sometime translate by a "must" in the french version.
2. ISO/IEC 7816 is undergoing a major rewrite (FDIS ballot under way at the moment, I think - see www.sc17.com and click on Outstanding Ballots), and it is known that some technical changes have been made. 7816-4 and several other parts have in effect been merged into the draft new 7816-4. But SC17 has not seen fit to issue any list of the technical changes, which may well cause difficulties with implementations in the near future.
Interesting link. I have download and print it and I will read this document as soon as possible. But this is a new draft of 7816-3 [1] and not 7816-4.
3. The EMV specification continues to be non-compliant with 7816 in some technical details, although it is believed that the present 7816 changes include convergence with the present change work by EMVCo.
