I opened up my box and found that there are 3 chips on the SC reader.
the biggest chip has the following written on it:
GemCor 121GM
83C51RC2-MC
0018 337098

The smaller chip has the following written on it:
GEMPLUS
IC100
XAE 9947

The smallest chip has writing which was too small to be read by the naked
eye (didn't have a magnifying glass at hand).

The system is made by GCT, http://www.gctglobal.com/
The model name is 3036N-SC
