Dear Brother,
AA.
I agree with you.
Even we assume or think that the project is an evil one, still we do not have
any excuse to express our bad behavior. The following is the teaching of God
Almighty
in the Quran.
[13:22] They steadfastly persevere in seeking their Lord, observe the Contact
Prayers (Salat), spend from our provisions to them secretly and publicly, and
counter evil with good. These have deserved the best abode.
[28:54] To these we grant twice the reward, because they steadfastly persevere.
They counter evil works with good works, and from our provisions to them, they
give.
Thank you and may God guide us,
M. Irtaza

AA,
Here is another provocation....
I do hope that majority of the responsible Muslims will prevail, and spread
the word that we should not fall for such provocations or traps... instead,
let's focus on simply doing good things.
Each one of us is responsible for the bad behavior of a few Muslims. We must
humbly ask our Imams and speakers to start delivering Qutbas about responsible
behavior... we should take the responsibility for failure... yes, you, the
reader and I are responsible for this chaos. Let the change begin with you and
I, and each one of us.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would have prayed for the goodwill to prevail and
would have advised his associates against doing any harm to them. He has set
the example of a model citizen. Islam is peace, let's really make it mean it.
The more we react, more provocation will come our way. Then we would be
endlessly engaged in negative activity preventing us from contributing. Let's
leave this Mecca Project alone and not mess with it. Let's use the same time
and effort to do good things that sticks out and cannot be erased - Like
volunteering at hospitals, schools, City, Shelters... serving in the soup
kitchens, adopting the streets.. the good work cannot be erased. The fight and
protests will bury us more into the quick sand, what is the point?
Please spread the word - to be kind instead of angry, to be forgiving instead
of revenging.. May Allah make the fasting meaningful. May this month produce a
lot of good, the good that sticks out.
Jazak Allah Khair

Silent no more, speak up.
*** Let us avoid using the word "Our Prophet"... he is everyone's prophet, by
monopolizing him as ours, we are being unfair to his message, by limiting it to
Muslims.

Apple's "Mecca Project" Provokes Muslim Reaction
Click this to see the PICTURE: http://memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=SD131506
On October 10, 2006, an Islamic website posted a message alerting Muslims to
what it claims is a new insult to Islam. According to the message, the
cube-shaped building which is being constructed in New York City, on Fifth
Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets in midtown Manhattan, is clearly meant to
provoke Muslims. The fact that the building resembles the Ka'ba (see picture
below), is called "Apple Mecca," is intended to be open 24 hours a day like the
Ka'ba, and moreover, contains bars selling alcoholic beverages, constitutes a
blatant insult to Islam. The message urges Muslims to spread this alert, in
hope that "Muslims will be able to stop the project."

Prophet Muhammad's
Charter of Privileges to Christians
(Letter to the Monks of St. Catherine Monastery)
In 628 C.E. Prophet Muhammad (s) granted a Charter of Privileges to the monks
of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai. It consisted of several clauses
covering all aspects of human rights including such topics as the protection of
Christians, freedom of worship and movement,
freedom to appoint their own judges and to own and maintain their property,
exemption from military service, and the right to protection in war. An
English translation of that document is presented here:
---------------------------------
This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt
Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because
Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that
displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges
to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one
is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything
from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would
spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and
have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to
travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a
female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her
approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their
churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing
them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of
the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the
world).
VERY UNFORTUNATELY FOR MUSLIMS, this charter of privileges has NOT been
honoured NEIGTHER faithfully applied by Muslims throughout the centuries in all
lands they ruled, NOT APPLIED EVEN TO EACH OTHER WITHIN THE DIFFERENT
DENOMINATIONS OF ISLAM.
THE QURAN IS THE BEST HADITH [39:23]
