Huh… yes you are correct. I tried sending an email to similarly-formatted
addresses, and it was rejected by the SMTP server. However, I certainly
received the email, so it must have worked on some level… unless the
headers were modified separate to the delivery? Is that even possible?
I'll also enquire with the sender as to how this worked.
