Howdy,

Well, finally got it to boot. The problem? Me trying to be too
"smart". That is, applying my past experience to the problem instead of
following the directions absolutely literally.

I made a few changes between the last failed and successful attempt, so
one or a combination of these are the source of my folly:

1) In the dhcpd, I had been using "/dongle.bin.mvpmc" instead of
"dongle..bin.mvpc" (diff - leading slash -- still think it shouldn't
matter, but)

2) In the dhcpd, I had commented out the "root-path" option a while
back. My thinking was that I really didn't need the NFS mount since
I wasn't going to be accessing anything on my server. I uncommented
this. No idea if it was needed, just reporting

3) For the dongle.bin.mvpmc.ver file, I just copied the dongle.bin.mvpmc
file instead of executing the dd command (I recall seeing it and
thinking what an odd way to copy a file -- then when I looked closer and
realized it was making an extract, I felt stupid).

4) When starting mvprelay, I put a host name instead of an IP address on
the command line, even though the docs say put an IP address. I
figured that anything that can take an IP can take a host (which is
usually true).

I'm not sure which of the above did it and I'm sort of burned out on
this, so I'm not about to trying different combos to see which is the
one that was holding me back, though I suspect it was #4, then #3. I
suspect #1 and 2 were OK, but probably not.

First, my apologies for wasting peoples time and more so, for not
actually following the instructions *exactly* before belly-aching on the
list.

Second -- to anyone else out there looking to run an Hx series off
linux, follow the instructions ***EXACTLY*** -- even if you think you
are smarter than they are (I learned -- I wasn't).
