I'm running MythTV 0.19. I know liveTV is problematic, but I don't watch live tv anyway - why would I, when I have a PVR :)
Another update on the saga. It appears that the MVP connecting to my backend is doing something funky / not nice to my backend. Once this funky thing happens, the MVP will not connect anymore. Here's the sequence of events: Yesterday: try connecting to mythtv from MVP, no dice (get connect to mythtv server failed. give up playing with mvp, later that day, mythbox is running "weird": frontend is slow, fast forward doesn't work and time display is wrong when watching a recording. Restart mythbackend thinking something funky must have happened (although the box has been rock solid stable up until now). MythTV box is happy Today: try connecting to mythtv from MVP, get database listing of recorded shows (yay - progress!), pick a show to watch and the progress bar comes up, then the MVP "reboots" (i.e. goes to the black with green text startup screen before the mvpmc menu displays). Wife calls out that mythtv is "acting weird" again Excited by progress, I ignore wife and try to connect to mythtv from MVP again but it won't connect (same as before, it displays the progress bar for about two minutes then says "Connect to mythtv failed") Check up on mythtv box and its doing the same sluggish stuff as before. Restart mythbackend and mythtv is good again. A couple of hours later, connect to mythtv from MVP, see listings (yay again), pick a show to watch, MVP reboots, MythTV broken again :( Give up. Could the MVP be killing my backend? I am running mythtv 0.19_p10505 (Gentoo portage release) on Gentoo 2.6.16-gentoo-r9 Anyone else running this with myth 0.19? What about daily build vs. mvalleland? Right now I am on the daily build from Saturday.
