I've captured some mvpmc session traffic while attempting to change to a channel from the DTV stb. That stb is on tuner 2 on the mythbackend. I'm seeing early queries for location information on tuners 1 and 2, but the mvpmc's channel change request is erroneously pointed at tuner 1:
39 QUERY_RECORDER 1[]:[]SET_CHANNEL[]:[]17 As you may infer, I've changed this channel's channum to 17 (from 16-2). I also set it's chanid to a number within the numeric range of known-good channels (that successfully change from the mvpmc). (That config still works from full mythtv frontends (remote and local).) The mythbackend responds with these log entries: 2008-11-11 10:22:51.159 GetChannelData() failed because it could not find channel number '17' in DB for source '1'. 2008-11-11 10:22:51.238 ChannelBase(1): IsTunable(S-Video 1,17) Failed to find channel in DB on input '1' 2008-11-11 10:22:51.240 ChannelBase(1) Error: Setting start channel '17' failed, and we failed to find any suitible channels on any input. 2008-11-11 10:22:51.270 Channel(/dev/video0): SetChannelByString(17), Error: CheckChannel failed. Please verify the channel in the 'mythtv-setup' Channel Editor. 2008-11-11 10:22:51.272 TVRec(1) Error: Failed to set channel to 17. I'm again wondering whether some interaction between the PVR-500 being two tuners in one (despite the driver identifying it as two cards) and the mvpmc prevents proper operation of the multiple tuners from the mvpmc (i.e., a weird, corner case). I'm reminded of my never having found a menu from which to select the tuner, a menu on the mvpmc supposedly available during LiveTV from the info button on the remote. I'm actually surprised not to see a MySQL query right before the channel change request that looks up the tuner number. How does the mvpmc know what the proper tuner is to which to direct the request? I see the sql traffic unsed to generate the tv guide (including the initial query for all channels available). Channel 17's information is returned properly with cardid=2. The DTV schedule source in this case would be tuner 2, input 8, source 6. IsTunable should have been looking at Composite 1,17 on tuner 2 (/dev/video1). Can anyone point me to the mvpmc code responsible for generating channel change requests using the tv guide?
