This same issue is noted on other posts as well; many seemed confused by the new behavior too. Personally, I would prefer going back to the old behavior as well. If people ask "why the view is not updated immediately after task properties are changed?", I would simply answer "to keep the task from possibly disappearing in case you need to further edit it".
