I put a note on it if needed, and change the date on the task to when I want to follow up if it hasn't been done. I do this for things like - if I've left a message for a person and they are supposed to call me back, etc. Then, if they have been done, I just check off the task. I don't have enough that I forget that I'm waiting, but I do have an @WaitingFor context that I would use if I did.
