So I've been using MLO for a week now and there's a lot to like.
However, there is one thing that is becoming a deal breaker for
staying with this app. That is OTA syncing.

Windows mobile is dead. This we know. Windows Phone 7 will be
replacing it. One of the trends of iPhone/Android/Windows Phone 7 is
the removal of desktop syncing. Good or bad this is the case.
Personally, I think desktop activesync sucks. I used it once, it
didn't work. I google the error code and found tens of thousands of
links of problems. That was enough for me, I never tried it again. I
sync my PIM stuff with exchange, its awesome, and there is no reason
to use desktop activesync. Enter MLO, which is still using the
antiquated desktop syncing.

Ok that out of the way, has anyone found a work around for this
oversight? I tried an app called Trenotes (http://www.fannsoftware.com/
TreNotes.html). Its arguably not as good as MLO, but it does basically
the same thing. Personaly, I think MLO is much better. However, I am
able to use this to do OTA with a work around. The WM software of
Trenotes opens the trenotes file natively. So I can just use shared
folders to open and copy the file down or up to/from my device. If I
work on it a bit, I can use webdav to do this much better. Outside the
LAN I can VPN in to do this.

Anyway, MLO does not have this option as the WM software doesn't open
the mlo file at all, but uses a different file format. All the WM apps
that I have so far tried, and use desktop syncing, use the same file
format on the mobile and on the desktop. MLO is the only exception I
have found so far. :(

So that work around is out. One thing I looked into is trying to
figure out how to use MLO with http://www.rememberthemilk.com/, which
has a WM OTA sync option if you pay a nominal amount. However, I am
not finding a way to do this. Another thing is using google tasks, but
this doesn't sync with WM so is a dead end.

So does anyone have any work around for WM OTA with MLO? As an aside,
why the heck is MLO mobile and MLO desktop using different file
formats?
