The problem with the desktop syncing statement being dead is that its
not true. Windows phone 7 will have it, but it will be a wireless
sync.

OTA syncing (using a third party server to manage your information) is
a good idea for some, but for people like me who A) cannot have the
information in my todo list on an uncontrolled server, and B) do not
want to pay a "nominal fee" to access my data when I can do it from my
desktop, its a major no no. Furthermore, viewing ads to substitute my
"nominal fee" to access MY data is also not acceptable when it can be
synced to my own machine and viewed and manipulated for free.

Desktop syncing is the one shortfall of android and why most business
users cannot or will not use it. As I have said before, having access
to your data anywhere is a weak argument since it is already on your
phone which is with you everywhere anyway.

I am not opposed to an OTA sync OPTION but not as the sole method.
Hell, I wouldn't mind a sharepoint tie-in or an exchange tie-in
because at least *I* own that server, but that would be the only
occasion I could or would use an OTA sync.

I hated that, on my android phone, everything required first going to
the cloud and then to my computer and visa versa (and in some
cases.... it never went to my computer, but was just DISPLAYED on my
computer. I want my data in MY control and free of ads and fees.
