*So here is my question for you: Is there a way to let the child tasks
reappear as new tasks and not just reset the old ones while keeping
their other behavior stated in (1).*

There isn't a setting that I have found. The way you describe MLO
functioning on recurrences is the way it was designed.

The only work around that I have found is to add a "complete status report"
task. You can then leave that one open until you get the completed
information that you need.

This is a worse issue for "Automatically recur when any subtasks is
completed", imo. I call those rotations and the subtasks are almost always
what I want to be marked as complete instead of the rotation task name.
