Thanks for the tips, guys! It sounds to me like the "complete subtasks in order" checkbox either matches the OmniFocus feature or it's close enough.

The use-case for sequential vs. parallel tasks is not really to do multiple items simultaneously, but rather to clarify that they do not block one another and can be completed as opportunity allows (based on context, for instance). Example: building a table might involve buying wood and ordering a lathe to make fancy legs. Although you need to have a lathe and wood before you can make the legs, it doesn't necessarily matter whether you buy the wood or order the lathe first. If I'm at the lumber yard I'll buy the wood, or if I'm at my computer I'll research and order the lathe.
