A solution that i use for the recurring task clutter issue is that instead 
of using recurring tasks I use the option to 'regenerate task 1 day after 
each task is completed'. This way there is no clutter in the calendar. The 
new task will appear only after the current task is completed.
This is also more correct because sometime you might have a daily task and 
you might miss an occurrence here and there, this instance should not 
appear in your calendar as it was not completed, while if a new task is 
generated only after completion the calendar is synced to the actual action.
