I have done both, in fact, I did it several times uninstall/install before writing into this group.
Where you can configure using a corporate proxy? I assumed the program used the global internet settings but looks like it doesn't. The program can't connect to the internet (and it has nothing to do with the firewall *PLEASE*), anyway I configured the firewall manually, and updates still doesn't work.
