Why? MyLifeOrganized is a task management software, and that's what the website says. Sync with mobile (or even mobile clients) is an additional functionality that a task management software may have or may not have. It is mentioned further down the page, but it says clearly that a aid subscription is necessary.

Also, you cannot expect to buy a cloud service with a one-time payment.

I think the MLO software and cloud subscription has a fair and appropriate pricing model, and they are pretty transparent about it on their webseite. Scroll down and you see clearly the four offers with their prices, and a detailed version comparison.

Again, not everybody needs sync, or WiFi Sync may suffice for some. Also, you still can sync via FTP or Dropbox between two Windows installations. Under Synchronization - Advanced you can choose a remote data file in your dropbox folder to sync against.
