Follow-up Comment #3, bug #15200 (project mypaint):
I think we should not force (random) color choices to the unsuspecting user.
Black is a very neutral choice, if the color sampler looks bad with it then
this is the real bug. The other issues you bring up certainly should be
fixed.
Concerning the 0.8.0 release: I think those issues are not important enough
to delay the release. But I might consider to include an obviously correct,
non-invasive fix for any of those problems.
