Follow-up Comment #6, bug #15350 (project mypaint):
Removing layersWindow from
gui/application.py:WINDOW_DEFAULTS
so that the layers dialog is never created,
seems to change the memleak behaviour, but not to fix it, Say
I scribble a bit -- mypaint starts up at 130mb mem usage, and through my
scribblings I knock it up to 520mb, then hit New.
The memory usage drops by about 6m after clearing, then remains constant for
a while as I scribble, then begins to rise again.
This seems to mirror your test results.
It seems clear to me that while the layer window may be involved in the
problem, it is not the primary cause.
