Follow-up Comment #4, bug #16106 (project mypaint):

>> 3) How much memory is in use when you are experiencing these problems?

MyPaint have about 300MB.

>> 1) The exact error message you get.
Also what do you mean by "saving stops working"; what happens if you try to
save again?
>> 2) What do you mean by "completely removes saving file"? How does it
crash?

Show some error message about not beeing a fatal error. Clicking on detail
does nothing. Closing error sometimes crashes, somethimes not (maybe in 0.8.2
not crash, not ecnountered yet in this version). When I close program (or
crash while saving), sometimes the file I worked with disappeares
(encountered in 0.8.2 while closing after file couldn't be saved - not fatal
error without crash after closing the message window). If I try save again
and again after a while it stop showing error message, just pretend saving
but not actually save.

>> Some more questions: how much memory do you have? How big are your images
usually (in pixels)? Does the problem also happen with small images?

3GB RAM, 2000*3000 usually, 1000*1500 seems fine (but it is too small for
real work).

>> You write "program displays error message" ==> What does the error message
say?

Nothing (not beeing a fatel error), when I click on detail button nothing
happens. I also would like to know what is really wrong.

>> About removing the saving file and then crashing... I wonder if this is
the Windows specific file locking that screws up here. If so, then when this
happens you should have a file with extension .tmpsave that contains the
correctly saved .ora and just needs renaming. Is this the case?

When saving stop working, tmp file is created while saving, but it has only
few bytes (i suppose only headers, no content). This problem I encountered
only two times I suppose. It is possible, that file was removed while saving
failed, I don't know exact moment the file get lost.

>> When saving fails, can you still save as PNG or JPEG instead of ORA?

No, not even scrap. It seems the same bug as mentioned by the user. tmpsave
have only headers no content, this is why it can't be opened. If I try save
again and again after a while it stop showing error message, just pretend
saving but not actually save.

>> And please try the following: open MyPaint, zoom out to the maximum, make
a small stroke, scroll about three screens diagonally, make another stroke,
save. What error do you get then?

Works fine, no error. But takes quite a lot of time for saving almost
nothing.
