Verified 1) also with vanilla i386 lucid using
xserver-xorg-input-wacom_1:0.10.5-0ubuntu4. No trace of 2). This is with
trunk commit 15ecd8c2c32f5774c6e81b896b5aaa497976b318.
Starting mypaint on the command line with a new confpath and just drawing
with the mouse (well, touchpad) at first is OK. Touchpad scroll works
correctly. Tablet buttons and scroll touchring ("Wacom Bamboo pad") work too
in this mode, and I can zoom in and out with either the tablet touchring or
the mouse.
Using the tablet pen at all (even without touching the pen to the pad)
results in the message
> device change: Wacom Bamboo <enum GDK_SOURCE_PEN of type GdkInputSource>
and a) inability to draw with the mouse (can still operate menus & dialogs),
b) non-functioning mouse scroll-zoom, c) non-functioning tablet buttons, d)
non-functioning tablet touchring-zoom.
In this state, cycling windows with alt-tab or by choosing another window
with the mouse, or just by moving the mouse over the menu area results in a
> device change: Core Pointer <enum GDK_SOURCE_MOUSE of type GdkInputSource>
message, and the lost functionality a) through d) is restored.
The eraser end of my tablet pen causes functionality to be lost in an
identical way to using the pen end, the only difference being the message
> device change: Wacom Bamboo eraser <enum GDK_SOURCE_ERASER of type
GdkInputSource>
Bumping to Important since I lose all pad device functionality, and almost
all mouse functionality on a regular basis while this bug is unfixed.
With the MTE-450A, touchring and buttons are found together on the "... pad"
device; eraser, pen and cursor (hover pointing) all present as separate
devices.
