Follow-up Comment #6, bug #17620 (project mypaint):

After additional testing, I've noticed the following:

- On inital startup, MyPaint does not recognize pen input. This is regardless
of whether I open the application via hotkey (I'm using FARR) or clicking the
shortcut with my stylus.

- Due to the fact that I am using my Cintiq attached to my laptop, I am using
MultiMon taskbar to manage my windows. When MyPaint loses/gains focus using
the MultiMon taskbar, pen input is lost. However re-focusing the application
either via alt-tab or minimize/maximize windows hotkey will allow MyPaint to
regain pen input.

- When using the 'Test input devices' Option in the debug menu, if there was
no pen input being recognized previously, leaving the output window open will
allow MyPaint to recognize the stylus. This essentially fixes the problem: so
maybe the workaround for me is to open the debug window at all times while
working in MyPaint, which is pretty ok for me I guess.
