The effect did not always exist (and I've used MyPaint with Openbox since
v0.5), but appeared for the first time the very day I first reported this bug.
Alas I didn't record which exact GIT version it was, but it was linked to new
changes to the windowing system.
Whereas I do find it does hamper my workflow (it may be cosmetic, but it is
very annoying), it's good to know it's not something present in other VMs.
