Follow-up Comment #1, bug #17983 (project mypaint):
Ruminations on the mailing list; we may need a more global concept of a
canvas interaction mode first:
https://mail.gna.org/public/mypaint-discuss/2011-07/msg00030.html
However we do it, painting should probably be forbidden when interacting with
the frame handles or controls in case the user dabs by accident. What about:
* user enters Frame Edit mode
* - sizer dialog pops up with a "Done" button (and maybe Cancel)
* - canvas becomes unpaintable, extra lines are drawn for the frame with
standard-looking handles
* user plays with the dialog figures and/or messes with the on-canvas
controls.
* - Frame is updated
* user presses Done, or toggles Frame Edit mode off by pressing its Action
key
* - sizer dialog disappears, canvas becomes paintable once more; frame is
drawn normally
Does this make sense for an interaction pattern?
