Follow-up Comment #2, bug #18520 (project mypaint):
when we blend the color in scratchpad using back(Dark) background we get the
dark color and when we change the background color to white the dark blended
color becomes saturated(bright) color then again we have to switch to the
black bg to get the dark color. And there is no use of pattern background in
the stratchpad the plain colored bg is enough. I have attached the images
below
