Follow-up Comment #12, bug #17005 (project mypaint):
No, I do not. I just tested various device names with git master and the
switch to a whitelist seems to avoid the problem completely.
It does make it so unusual names for the pen/eraser result in them having no
pressure sensitivity, but that's better than the program completely failing,
and comparable to how other tested gtk applications (gimp, inkscape) deal with
tablet inputs before manual configuration.
It's a shame MyPaint doesn't use Qt instead; Krita seems to do a much better
job of detecting pressure-sensitive devices than any of the Gtk apps I've
tested (MyPaint fails silently, Gimp and Inkscape require hand-tuning with
messy UIs).
Out of curiosity, is the tablet detection with Gtk apps going to improve as
they migrate to Gtk3, or is this going to be a long-term usability problem for
Gtk applications?
