Follow-up Comment #8, bug #17005 (project mypaint):

I'm attaching a small patch to gui/application.py that checks for the
presence of xsetwacom and if available, uses it to determine what devices are
of type 'STYLUS' or 'ERASER'

It's not the way I would have liked to do it, but the only other option seems
to be using XInput from Python, which I couldn't do.  Using XInput directly
should be possible for someone more familiar with it and Python, but I'm not
sure it's worth the added complexity.

If I screwed up the patch creation or am submitting it incorrectly let me
know.  I tried creating it as suggested on the MyPaint development page, but
I don't have much experience using git.
