Follow-up Comment #5, bug #20437 (project mypaint):
I got the tablet to work in Mint linux VM by messing with virtualbox mouse
integration. It doesn't work perfect but probably a virtualbox USB timing
issue. I'm still experimenting.
I gave up on getting it to work in version 1.0 in Windows 7.
