Not really having any luck here. I see that the script doesn't build
a mysql server; maybe that has something to do with it. A
Fink-installed MySQL wasn't working for me; I couldn't get the right
permissions set up.
This is what you want:

http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-4.1/mysql-standard-4.1.16-
apple-darwin8.2.0-powerpc.dmg/from/http://mysql.mirrors.pair.com/

Okay, but I'm still getting the same error:

2005-12-15 00:03:02.644 Using runtime prefix = /Users/dave/ myth/.osx-packager/build
  2005-12-15 00:03:02.797 New DB connection, total: 1
2005-12-15 00:03:02.852 Unable to connect to database!
  2005-12-15 00:03:02.853 Driver error was [1/1045]:
  QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
  Database error was:
Access denied for user 'mythtv'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

2005-12-15 00:03:03.013 Failed to init MythContext, exiting.

I don't know where passwords get set up.

Do I need to separately create this database that the backend is
trying to connect to?

TIA,
