I'm a newbie to to this but I have experienced a lot
recently trying to install MythTV. I can say that
Jarod's Guide has been updated for FC3. I can't vouch
for it because unfortunately, my hardware doesn't work
well with FC3. I can't install FC3 due to a known bug
that won't be fixed until Redhat releases another
version of FC3. So I'm stuck with using FC2. It's
mostly accurate though. I've had to tweak it here and
there to accomodate for FC2.

I tinkered with KnoppMyth myself. It installs rather
easily but you lose a lot of control during the
install. For example if you take the easiest route
and use the defaults, it makes four ext2 partitions
out of your HD. I like a few more options like /tmp
as a partition set to noexec, my video partition to
use ReiserFS, etc. For me it seemed would be more
work to configure post-install than to use another
disto. The good thing is that you use the older
versions which are tried and true and you know all the
bugs with it.
