Also, look in /var/log/messages and /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log and see if you are getting any messages generated. Especially ones about /dev/video0 not being found or something of the sort.
I'll have a look, but FWIW I don't think that's the issue; if I select watch-tv and get a black screen (with no skychannel [not .sh] called - I'll check perms. this evening; of course, it's the backend doing it, not mythfrontend) I can manually turn on the digibox and the picture appears, so myth's streaming /dev/video0 OK.
