My understanding has always been that xv can only be used on the
0th screen of a multi-head nvidia card.     One would think it would
be "one just one screen" but apparently it is worse, it has to be
screen 0 as far as the card is concerned.  (X can think it's screen 1)

Pehaps the 6600 was able to do 2 screens and the 5700 is not?  Or
with xv but not xvmc?

As for testing, yes, if you need component out and don't have a
tv that can take vga or rgb or have an audio authority, you may
not be the right person to test the performance.

However, realize you can test the performance on a plain old vga
monitor at 1280 x 960 just fine.
